Dr. J. Otis Hurst received his undergraduate degree in zoology at the University of Tennessee before beginning his studies at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, where he earned his DDS degree. Upon graduation, Dr. Hurst moved to Dayton, Ohio to complete his General Practice Dental Residency at Miami Valley Hospital.

Committed to providing compassionate care, Dr. Hurst prioritizes patient safety and advanced techniques at Preferred Family Dental to help ensure your smile remains healthy and beautiful. He strives to keep the practice up-to-date with the latest dental technologies to minimize discomfort while maximizing results.

Dr. Hurst also strongly believes in the value of continuing education, which is an essential component to keeping abreast of the newest advancements in general and cosmetic dentistry. The many comprehensive continuing education programs Dr. Hurst has completed include the Creating Restorative Excellence course at the Kois Center® and coursework at The Misch Implant Institute. He is also Invisalign® certified.

In addition to serving on the staff for Good Samaritan Hospital, Dr. Hurst is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Ohio Dental Association (ODA), the Dayton Dental Society, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Dr. Amar Mistry received his undergraduate degree in Nutritional Sciences from Michigan State University. He then obtained his DDS from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. Upon graduation, he completed a 1-year AEGD residency (Advanced Education in General Dentistry) from Tufts University in Portland, Maine. Dr. Amar is also Invisalign certified.

Dr. Mistry strives to provide positive patient-centered, comprehensive, and compassionate care. He values the importance of continuing education by keeping up to date on current technologies and research. He strongly believes in evidence-based dentistry and enjoys teaching patients the importance of oral hygiene. Dr. Mistry is excited to join the Dayton community and start building relationships with his future patients at Preferred Family Dental.

Dr. Mistry is a member of the Ohio Dental Association, American Dental Association, and Dayton Dental Society. Outside of the office, Dr. Mistry enjoys cooking, traveling, supporting Michigan State athletics, and spending time with his friends and family. Dr. Hoss Rohani graduated with a BS in developmental and cellular biology and a minor in biochemistry from California State University. He received both his master’s and his DMD from the Western University of Health Science located in Southern California. His master’s in medical science was received from the college of Biomedical Science and his DMD was received from the College of Dental Medicine.

Under the guidance and mentorship of Maestro Dr. Simon Hong, Dr. Hoss learned a holistic approach to treating the whole patient and observing the whole picture of a patient’s well-being. He truly cares about the preventative aspects of dentistry and his focus is on educating and maintaining good oral health. Following a conservative approach, he likes to work with patients to help them achieve their dental goals. Whether it is to get a patient out of pain or to make up their ideal smile, Dr. Hoss gets gratification from listening to patients’ concerns and satisfying their dental needs.

Growing up in Los Angeles, California he is accustomed to concrete drives and very little weather change. He is excited with all the greenery and water he sees on his drive to work. He loves being outside and cannot wait to try snow tubing this winter. He also enjoys watching European soccer and professional ping pong.
